Narrative Therapy
I hold your stories in high regard – they are stepping stones to strength and wisdom. We glimpse the power of our narratives when we slow down and pause to listen to what is right here and now. The storyteller in you is welcome – exactly how this presents and speaks through your body. Together we turn our attention towards your experience. We lean into this adventure.
In my work, I honour and respect the founders of this tradition of narrative therapy: “Telling our stories in ways that make us stronger” Aunty Barbara Wingard & Jane Lester
“The person is not the problem, the problem is the problem” Michael White
Hakomi
Hakomi is a mindfulness-based, body-centred approach to psychotherapy. It invites us to explore your inner world through embodied awareness. Rather than analysing or pushing for answers, we slow down. We listen. We become curious about what arises - in your thoughts, emotions, memories, and in the body itself.
Hakomi is rooted in the belief that your system has its own intelligence. Beneath patterns and protection, there is wisdom. With careful attention and compassionate presence, understanding can unfold naturally. This work can feel subtle and deeply meaningful. Often, it is less about effort, and more about allowing.
What a session might include
Each session is different, because each person is different.
Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we pause. Sometimes we follow what your body is signalling. We may explore relationships, history, grief, longing, identity, or the parts of you that feel stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected.
We may also pay attention to what is strong in you - what has helped you survive, what has carried you this far, and what might now be asking for care. My hope is that our work creates more space inside you - more breath, more choice, more ease. A place where life begins to feel flexible again. I will meet you with warmth and seriousness. We will go at your pace, and we will listen together for what wants to emerge.
If you’re curious about working together, you’re warmly invited to reach out and book a complimentary 15-minute conversation to explore what you need and whether this feels like the right fit.
